Founder Dinesh Perera was driving tourists around the hill country for a foreign tour operator when he noticed the itineraries never changed — same three towns, same two restaurants, regardless of who was in the car. He and a college friend started taking bookings directly, one email at a time, using his own car and a spare room as the "office."
By year four we'd planned over a thousand trips, almost entirely through referrals. We moved into a small office off Galle Road, hired our first full-time planners, and put together the guide network we still work with today — vetted, paid fairly, and kept small on purpose.
We've planned over 4,000 private trips now, but the rule hasn't changed: no fixed group departures, no reselling someone else's package, and a planner who has actually been where they're sending you. That's the whole pitch.
